I Finished The Epic Game!
The other night I finally did it, I finally beat the Wii game "Disney Epic Mickey", and wow did it take me long enough! First of all lets get something off of my chest. Yes, I am a Disney fan, I've been one since I was a kid so there, take it or leave it. Now that we have that out of the way, if you have a Wii and like Disney or are waiting until Kingdom Hearts 3 comes out... THEN GET EPIC MICKEY NOW! I'm dead serious this game is pretty sweet to the young and the young at heart. Without spoiling much of this game you play as Mickey Mouse who stumbles upon Master Yen-Sid's workshop while working on a project.
Since good ol' Mickey is a bit of a mischief maker he decides to play with some paint on the world Yen-Sid created. Soon Mickey messes up and all hell breaks loose then he flees the scene. Years later (after Mickey is a world renowned super star) a creature kidnaps him and Mickey is transported to the Wasteland. A land that was made for the forgotten characters of Disney cartoons past. Funny enough the Wasteland is run by Walt Disney's first ever cartoon star, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, who would have become the star Mickey was destined to be if Walt did not loose the rights to Oswald due to contractual obligations. So because of that Oswald HATES Mickey.
Wasteland is pretty much a darker, creepier, Tim Burton style of Disneyland, with all the major attractions reconizeable yet still strange and dark. Your mission as Mickey Mouse is to escape the Wasteland and get home, but instead of a sword, you get a magic paint brush. The brush fires off paint, (which restores things painted and makes some enemies your friends) and thinner (which destroys anything painted and kills enemies). Also in addition to going home, you have to fight the evil Shadow Blot, (which Mickey ultimately created on accident) and the Mad Doctor. This game is also a Disney history lesson for the games takes you through almost 80 years of Disney cartoon history.
The cartoon elements come in during when you are going from area to area. Say you are going from Mean Street to Bog Easy. The only way to get to Bog Easy is to jump through the projector screen which holds the Disney cartoon, "The Lonesome Ghosts". Also another thing about the game which is cool is that its also a morality test. Meaning you are fighting a boss battle, (spoiler alert, you fight the small world clock tower) and if you defeat them with paint or thinner that would cause other characters in the game to react differently toward you. The only problems I had with the game was that the camera could become a super evil and you will die many times cause of it. But beside all that it's truly an awesome game, so here is a little trailer of the game if you would like to see more. Also its out in stores now so if you want to become epic, THEN GET IT!
