E3, Something That I actually Care About

The biggest videogame show has hit the city of Los Angeles and so far 3 big things have happened, and no I'm not going to talk about Congressman Weiner (hehe) or his photos, so stop thinking about it.  A major, major, MAJOR thing has happened.  Halo 4!  During the Xbox press conference they released a trailer of the 4th installment of the one of the most popular FPS series ever.  So here's a trailer for Halo 4.

My first expression... NO FRIGGAN WAY THAT LOOKS AWESOME!  Microsoft only gave us the trailer but the day Halo is going to be released is going to be around Christmas 2012 (dammit!).  They also had some cool things for Gears of War 3, which comes out in Septmeber.  Besides Microsoft's stuff, Nintendo not only came out with new trailers of titles such as Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and now Mario Kart 3DS, they came out with a new system.  The Wii U, wait the Wii U!?  Why the hell is the system called the Wii U?  Oh well, I thought the same thing when the Wii came out and now I really don't care.  The cool thing about the Wii U, is that the controller has a screen on it, and if the family is watching TV and you really want to play games, you can!  I'm dead serious, the new controller looks like a Nintendo iPad in which you can draw, browse the internet, and even shoot a youtube video onto your TV screen.  Also the new system is compatable with old Wiimotes.  Here is a video for the new Wii U.

Pretty cool huh?  So I am excited for the new titles to come out for the Wii U, and now I need to start saving up to buy these games and systems.

  1. Halo4 was a nice touch to end the press conference on. I'm curious to see how Microsoft will do making their first Halo game without Bungie.

Not sure what to make of Wii U. I like how the control can let you keep playing without the need of the TV, but the control is big, and I'm not sure if I want to hold an I Pad when I'm trying to play a game. And a price point on the new system would have been nice to know.
